The extension down rod measures 24 inches long by 3/4 inches ID, and can be used with Westinghouse or other ceiling fans that require a 3/4-inch ID ceiling fan extension down rod. For optimum performance and safety, ceiling fan blades should be at least 7 feet from the floor but no higher than 8 to 9 feet in order to best cool a room.
