The Kidde Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector, AA Battery Powered, LED Warning Light Indicators, model 900-CUDR, is an alarm combo that detects smoke, fire, & carbon monoxide gas, using a single alarm. Operating on two AA batteries (included) for protection during a power failure, the Kidde Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm is equipped with self-testing components that are always checking the unit to ensure the device is operating as expected. In the event of a smoke or carbon monoxide event, an 85-decibel alarm sounds & LED warning light indicators alert you to various statuses: a green light indicates the unit is in proper working operation, an amber light indicates an operating error, and a red light indicates a smoke, fire, or carbon monoxide incident. The combination smoke & carbon monoxide detector also provides a voice alert of "Low Battery" when the battery on the unit needs to be replaced. The Kidde Smoke & Carbon Monoxide alarm uses photoelectric sensors that detect visible fire particles associated with slow smoldering fires, as well as an electrochemical carbon monoxide sensor, which offers accurate readings of CO. The test-hush button allows testing of the alarm, while the hush button allows for temporary silence of the alarm when a nuisance, or "false" alarm sounds from events like routine cooking or shower steam. When the alarm is nearing its end of life, it will begin to chirp. Place a smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector on each level of your home, in hallways, and inside each bedroom. UL Certified with a 10-year limited manufacturer's warranty on the alarm. Meets requirements of UL 2034, UL217, NFPA72, NFPA 101, FHA, & HUD. Self-testing is not a substitute for a manual push test of the alarm. Perform a button test once per week to verify proper alarm operation.
