Valeo headlight assembly AFS (Tri-Xenon) features lighting technology that is being launched as a world first on the new Audi Q7. In addition to traditional high and low beams, the module has a highway function activated at 70 miles per hour which doubles the range of conventional xenon low beams (from 80 meters to 140 meters), without dazzling other drivers. Depending on the orientation of the module, three additional functions are available: the rain function, which counters the reflective effect of water on the road and improves visibility of the roadside; the city function, which redirects the beam below 20 miles per hour to improve lighting of the roadsides, and particularly intersections; and the tourism function, which adapts the beam in countries where traffic flows in the opposite direction.
